Planning and decision support: Calculator results and reports depend on supplied inputs, available sources and stated assumptions. They do not certify safety or compliance, replace actual weighing or inspection, or increase a manufacturer or approved limit. Your statutory consumer rights are preserved.

All services, reports, assessments, tools, and content provided by ClearPath (a service of Clearpath Modifications Advisory, ABN 52 745 979 937) are advisory and informational in nature only.

ClearPath provides independent information and advisory services to assist vehicle owners, operators, and prospective buyers with understanding vehicle setup considerations, towing configurations, payload planning, modification risks, and caravan and trailer suitability. The Detailed Weight Distribution Calculator & Report, Risk Scan, Vehicle + Caravan Assessment and Complete Vehicle Build Assessment are decision-support products. Automated outputs are not human-reviewed unless that review is expressly included in the service purchased. Human review does not turn a report into an inspection, engineering certificate or regulatory approval. Delivery methods and timeframes are explained in our Service Delivery Policy.

No service, report, tool, or content provided by ClearPath constitutes, or should be relied upon as:

  • Engineering certification — ClearPath is not a licensed engineering firm and does not certify modifications, vehicle configurations, or towing setups under any Australian Design Rule (ADR), Vehicle Standards Bulletin (VSB), or state or territory vehicle standard
  • Mechanical inspection — ClearPath does not conduct physical inspections of vehicles, trailers, caravans, modifications, or load configurations
  • Regulatory approval — ClearPath does not issue approvals on behalf of any state, territory, or federal road authority, registration body, or insurer

ClearPath advisory outputs do not guarantee:

  • That your vehicle, modification, towing configuration, or load setup is legally compliant with any applicable law, regulation, or standard
  • That your vehicle setup will be approved, accepted, or endorsed by any road authority, registration body, police service, insurer, or engineer
  • That a modification will obtain or be eligible for engineering certification
  • That your vehicle will pass a roadworthy inspection or registration check, or that later measured weights will be within all applicable limits
  • That your towing, payload, or load configuration is physically safe for any road condition or intended use
  • The absence of a risk in a report does not mean no risk exists — assessments are based on the information supplied and available at the time of assessment only

A Risk Indicator or Assessment Status summarises the checks performed using the available inputs and assumptions. A result within entered limits is not a safety rating or a legal compliance certificate. A flagged risk identifies a matter to investigate; it does not predict that an incident will occur. Missing or unflagged risks may still exist.

Assessments use the information you supply together with reference data available for the selected service. Some database records are checked against identified sources, but a verified reference record does not establish the specifications, condition, modifications or actual loaded weight of your individual vehicle or caravan. Customer-entered figures are not automatically independently verified. See our Editorial Policy for our source and review method.

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate, complete, and current information when submitting an assessment request
  • Checking the exact model, year, variant and fitted equipment against the relevant compliance plates, manufacturer documentation and any applicable modification approval documents
  • Obtaining suitable measurements of actual travel weights, including axle and coupling loads where needed; published ratings and calculator estimates are not measurements
  • Confirming all towing and payload limits directly with the vehicle manufacturer before making any towing or hauling decision

Before making any purchasing, modification, or operational decision in relation to a vehicle, trailer, caravan, or towing configuration, ClearPath strongly recommends that you seek independent professional advice from:

  • A qualified mechanic for physical inspection of vehicle condition and safety
  • A suitably qualified engineer or authorised vehicle certifier where modification approval or certification is required
  • Your relevant state or territory road authority for current registration and vehicle requirements; see our state-by-state guidance
  • A solicitor where legal compliance, liability, or contractual matters are involved
  • Your insurer regarding any impacts on your vehicle or towing insurance cover

ClearPath advisory reports are designed to complement — not replace — independent professional advice. They are a starting point for informed planning, not a final determination of compliance or safety.

Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.

ClearPath remains responsible for meeting its applicable legal obligations in providing the purchased service. The advisory scope and input limitations described here do not remove those obligations. See the ACCC consumer rights guidance.

You remain responsible for decisions about operating, loading, purchasing and modifying your vehicle or caravan. Check the applicable limits and obtain measurements, inspections or professional advice appropriate to the decision. Any applicable contractual limitation of liability operates only to the extent permitted by law.

Read this Disclaimer with our Terms and Conditions and Refund Policy, subject to the consumer rights preserved above.

ClearPath takes reasonable care in preparing its tools, reference data and reports. Specifications and requirements can change, and source records may not cover every variant, fitted option or approved modification. Check the source, date, assumptions and missing information shown for your result.

Automated and AI-assisted narrative can contain errors or omit relevant context. Check significant conclusions against the underlying figures and authoritative documents. If you identify an error, contact us with the page or report reference and supporting information so we can investigate.

Free tools include the Towball Leverage Calculator, Caravan Weight Calculator, Vehicle & Caravan Weight Check, Vehicle Weight & Payload Calculator and Tow Match. The paid Detailed Weight Distribution Calculator & Report provides additional load-position calculations and a downloadable report. These tools support planning using their stated inputs and assumptions.

Results are calculated from entered figures and any selected reference data. They do not weigh your setup or inspect its condition. Rated maxima such as GVM, GCM, ATM and GTM are different from measured operating weights. Towball leverage estimates explain load transfer; they do not measure coupling load or establish towing stability. Check vehicle, caravan, axle, towbar, coupling, tyre and other applicable limits separately using the correct documentation and measurements.
