ClearPath modification pathways
Modifying a light vehicle in the ACT
ACT applies the NCOP alongside its local vehicle requirements. Owner-certified modifications and significant or extensive modifications follow different pathways.
Where certification is required, arrange a recognised engineering signatory and an Access Canberra Motor Vehicle Inspection Station inspection. The engineering report needs to cover the modifications, with relevant checklists and any applicable test reports.
For a proposed GVM increase, ask Access Canberra about the appropriate inspection and engineering process. It is not a simple change of vehicle description.
Prepare the current ratings, existing modifications and proposed package before seeking advice. Use the Navigator to assemble a preliminary checklist.
