ClearPath modification pathways
Modifying a light vehicle in NSW
Speak with a licensed VSCCS certifier before significant modification work. Confirm that the certifier is authorised for the relevant type of work.
Minor modifications may not need certification. That depends on the actual changes and their effect on the vehicle; an accessory label by itself does not establish an exemption.
After certification, follow the applicable NSW registration or records-update process and tell your insurer about the completed changes.
Bring your original specifications, current modifications and proposed parts to the conversation. The Navigator helps organise those questions; it does not replace a VSCCS certificate.
Prepare a modification evidence worksheetFree ACT and NSW preparation guidance. No approval or certification is provided.

Preliminary advisory guidance only. This is not engineering certification, registration approval, a roadworthiness inspection or a finding that your vehicle is safe or legal. Confirm the complete modification package with the relevant road authority and an appropriately authorised certifier before proceeding. The paid ClearPath assessment is also advisory.
